The New Canaan Historical Society is busy planning its spring gala. Mad for Modern will be held under a tent on the Great Lawn at 13 Oenoke Ridge on June 2 at 6:30 pm. The evening honors former New Canaan residents Robert and Susan Bishop. Susan served as a past President of the Society, and both Robert and Susan have been dedicated supporters of its mission and work for more than 20 years.
The evening’s festivities include an auction of private historical experiences – a child’s birthday party in the Rock School, a whiskey tasting in the Tavern of the Hanford-Silliman House, a tour of the Historical Society’s costume collection, and a cocktail party at the Gores Pavilion. Also at auction is a drawing of the purchaser’s house by renowned architect and artist Mark Markiewicz.
The night will have live music with vocalists Richard Weidlich and Katie Oxman and a seated dinner.
