Deceit, Madness, Suspense!
Gaslight has all the elements for a brilliant psychological thriller — an isolated wife who wonders if she is going mad, a suavely handsome husband who seems concerned, a sly, insolent young maid, and an unsolved murder all set in Victorian London. It’s no wonder that Patrick Hamilton’s show, also known as Angel Street, was a hit on Broadway and in London, and made into a movie in 1944 starring Charles Boyer, Ingrid Bergman, and Angela Lansbury.
The Town Players of New Canaan’s production of this classic show opens Friday, February 22 for a three-weekend run at the Powerhouse Performing Arts Center in Waveny Park. Tickets can be ordered by calling 203-594-3636 or via the web at www.tpnc.org.
