Silvermine is coming to downtown! Its popular holiday sale expands this year to two locations. In addition to the annual Silvermine School of Art Faculty and Student Holiday Sale at the arts center on Silvermine Road, a gallery pop-up exhibit and sale of work by the Guild artists will join in the fun at the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce’s annual Holiday Stroll, beginning Friday evening, Dec. 2. at 5pm. Affordable art will be available all weekend at 70 Main Street at the former Jos. A. Bank location.
At the 70 Main Street location, browse art by Silvermine Guild artists from Friday evening, Dec. 2 through Sunday, Dec. 4. Works in painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage and photography will be available for sale. Dimensions are under or up to 24” with a wide range of affordable art prices $25 and up.
Beginning Saturday morning at 10 am at the Silvermine Arts Center on Silvermine Road, shoppers can visit the School of Art faculty and student holiday sale. The two-day sale features work by the talented students and teachers at Silvermine. The works available span the full range of Silvermine’s art programs: ceramics, metalwork, jewelry, paper, and textiles to name a few. There are bargains to be had and one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts at every turn. The School of Art Holiday Sale will include a reception from 2-4 pm on Sunday, Dec. 4. In the spirit of the season, a portion of the proceeds from the school sale will support the children’s scholarship fund.
The School of Art Holiday Sale hours are: Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 1pm to 4pm. The Silvermine Galleries Pop-up Sale at 70 Main Street will begin Friday night with the Chamber’s Holiday Stroll. Saturday hours are 10 am to 6pm; Sunday hours, 12 noon to 6pm.
The downtown sale is sponsored by True Commercial Real Estate, LLC, which generously donated its 70 Main Street space to the Silvermine Arts Center. Come browse at one of the most enjoyable holiday sale events in Connecticut. The holiday sales are tax free on Saturday and Sunday at both locations.
