New Canaan Mounted Troop (NCMT) is pleased to announce our annual spring fundraising event in celebration of NCMT’s 75th anniversary. This event is open to the public as well as NCMT members and alumni. Tickets are on sale now: adults $70 and children $30. Checks made to NCMT may be sent to 22 Carter Street, New Canaan, Connecticut 06840, Attn.: Barn Dance. Proceeds benefit NCMT charitable programs. Dress is country casual.

Held annually in seven cities across the country — Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Tri-State (New Canaan, CT), Twin Cities, and Washington D.C. — this family friendly 5K walk/run raises both awareness and funds for multiple myeloma. Since its inception in 2001 in Chicago, the MMRF Race for Research program has raised more than $19 million to support the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation’s urgent work.Come walk, run or stroll with myeloma families, friends, patients and health professionals at this inspiring event which celebrates the progress we are making and offers a way for you to support the critical work the MMRF is doing to extend the lives of patients and find a cure.

Join more than 650 tour-goers visiting stunning, distinct, and exclusive New Canaan homes showcasing the latest in kitchen and home design trends by nationally published designers. The Tour will include seven homes that vary greatly in style, size, and setting, but all share an uncompromising commitment to quality and innovative kitchen design. The Kitchen and Home Tour is CARES’ major fundraising event with nearly 85% of its proceeds directly supporting youth and faculty classroom instruction, after-school workshops and health promotion training.

The Outback has the opportunity to host the Red Cross Blood Drive on Saturday May 3, 2014. The hours are from 8am-1pm.

The tag sale is Troop 70’s largest fundraiser and community service project. This annual event historically has brought all boy scouts and families together to raise money for year-round troop activities, build a fund for charitable giving, and give those in the surrounding communities an opportunity to purchase special items at great prices.

Kids will try to catch the biggest and best trout during the annual fishing derby at Mill Pond on April 12th. Registration begins at 8:30AM with the first lines being allowed in the water at 9:00AM and the derby will run till 11:00AM.
