In response to the high demand for employee parking in downtown New Canaan, The Parking Commission has set aside 20 parking spaces in both the Morse Court/Main Street and Park Street Municipal lots for New Canaan Business Owners/Employees. Annual cost for these spots has been set by The Parking Commission at $429.00
Similar to the commuter lots, theses spaces will entitle the permit owners to park anywhere in the designated lots as their permits will be monitored via the License Plate Reader that is used elsewhere in town.
As demand for these spots is anticipated to be high, the Parking Department will be accepting “Requests” for these 40 spaces from May 1st – May 26th.
A lottery will be held with all of the Requests that have been properly filled out and Business Owners/Employees whose names have been drawn will be notified the Week of June 12th that they have been awarded a space. Applications will then be mailed out to the business owners/employees who were chosen. Completed applications which include copies of vehicle Registrations for any vehicle listed, as well as Payment of $429 in Full will be due back to the Parking Department no later than June 30th.
