Benefitting Staying Put in New Canaan, a nonprofit charity that allows New Canaan’s seniors to continue living in their own homes. As the evening’s co-host, Brian Williams has a special interest in paying tribute to New Canaan’s first responders, as he is a former volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician in his native New Jersey. His “Nightly News” broadcast is the largest single daily source of news in America.

Tickets: $30/Person

Dinner: 1-1/4lb lobster, corn on the cob, fresh roll, coleslaw, coffee or soft drink, fruit and homemade baked goods. Chicken dinner available ($10 discount at door). Beer & Wine, and takeout available!

The 6th Annual Literary Luncheon, a highlight of the Library’s social calendar. Guest author Therese Anne Fowler will discuss her intriguing debut novel “Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald” at Woodway Country Club in Darien. Ms. Fowler’s vibrant work brings to life the glittering personalities and social lives of legendary Jazz Age figures, including Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, and Ernest Hemingway.

Friday night at All Out For Autism Race there were over 500 participants, 60 of them were kids. What a great turn-out! Thanks to everyone who participated and made for a memorable day.

The highlight was the mascot race between the New Canaan Ram vs Bruegger’s Bagelman vs Joe’s Pizzaman and the New Balance nubie shoe.

The Taste of the Town Stroll is an eating-drinking-shopping-fundraising extravaganza that happens all across New Canaan. Join us Thursday, August 22nd from 6-9 pm as businesses around New Canaan open their doors to people looking for a tasty snack, a beverage, and a bargain. What’s the price of participation at over 25+ stores? A donation of canned foods to the New Canaan Food Pantry. Plus, there are 20 fabulous prizes to be won!

The New Canaan sponsor merchants and the New Canaan Recreation Department hosts the Waveny Concert Series each summer. Bands, mostly from Fairfield County, perform for New Canaan residents at Waveny Park every Wednesday night. The rain date for each week is the following Thursday. People are welcome to bring a blanket and a picnic to enjoy the live music from. Call (203) 594-3610 for concert updates and cancellations.

This very special multi-chamber Business After Hours has been made even more special with a new menu, featuring a wide variety of offerings-via various action stations. And of course, this event brings together a wide variety of Chamber members for a networking event within the 66-acre idyllic grounds of Dolce Norwalk. NCHS alumni Nicola Scandiffio and Abigail Schwartz need your support to make their first film. Making a feature film has been a dream of these two NCHS alums for a long time. They are close to making the dream a reality but need help funding the project.
